Kamchatka wonderland

Kamchatka is the place everyone should visit at least once. And if you don’t like multi-day trips with tents — this is not an excuse to give up the dream. During this trip you will see all the best that Kamchatka has to offer, every evening returning to a comfortable hotel. This tour is for those who are used to comfort and not ready for an overnight stay in tents. Every day you will return to a comfortable hotel room.

Day 1. Arrival to Kamchatka

After meeting at the airport you will move to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, where you will check in in the hotel and have some rest. 

Next you will take part in the shamanic tea ceremony, held by Valery Malakhov who is the follower of Kamchatka shamans. You will taste Kamchatka wild plants, traditional teas and tinctures, listen to the harp and guitar.  You will have dinner and then return to the hotel.

Day 2. Valley of Geysers or panoramic views of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky

On this day it is possible to go on a helicopter excursion to Geyser Valley. You will walk along the Uzon Caldera, have lunch in the valley, and in the evening will return to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

There are more than 20 big geysers in the valley, including Velican (Giant), Zhemchuzhny (Pearly), Sakharny (Sugary), Troinoi (Triple), Konus (Cone), Fontan (Fountain), Maly (Small), Bolshoy (Big), Shchel (Split). There are geysers that gush forth every 10-12 minutes, while others may erupt once in 4-5 hours.

For those who will not go to the Geyser Valley, we will make trip to observation points, a museum and historical sights. Optionally, you can choose an excursion to an ethnic settlement (extra charge).

Day 3. A walk along the spurs of volcanoes

Today you will have an off-road trip to the high plateau, located between Avachinsky and Koryaksky volcanoes. You will be walking for 2-3-hours along the volcanic spurs. You will have lunch outdoors at a picturesque place.

You will climb the Camel mountain, take beautiful photos of the mountainous landscapes, admire the mountain flowers and see the colonies of ground gophers. They are not afraid of people, beg for nuts and even pose for the camera. In the evening, you will return to the hotel and rest.

In the tour starting on July,1 on this day you will have a trip to the foot of the Vilyuchinsky volcano with visiting the observation deck at the mountain pass. In good weather, it offers magnificent panoramic views of the Gorely, Mutnovsky and Vilyuchinsky volcanoes. Then you will have a walk (2.5-3 km) along the trail and through the snow to the Vilyuchinsky waterfall with a height of 40 m. On the route you will have a picnic. On the way back to Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, if desired, you can also visit the Upper Paratunsky hot springs on the mount Goryachaya (Russian for Hot).

Day 4. Sightseeing in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky and the Black beach

After breakfast you will have a city tour. You will visit the viewing points, get acquainted with the history of Kamchatka in the local museums and visit the fish market. 

After lunch in a cafe (extra charge), you will go to the Pacific coast and walk along the famous Khalaktyrsky beach with black volcanic sand. 

Then you will go for a swim in the healing hydrogen sulfide waters of the springs named Zelenovskie Ozerki. In the evening you will come back to the hotel and rest.

Day 5. Mutnovsky volcano and "Small Geysers valley"

Today you will get by car through the plateau of volcanoes Vilyuchinsky and Gorely to the foot of Mutnovsky volcano. You will enjoy a guided walk to the Dachny hot springs, called by locals «Small geysers valley». On the route you will have a picnic.

On the way, you can visit the Upper Paratunsky hot springs and the Vilyuchinsky waterfall. After excursion you will return to the hotel in Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky.

In the tour starting on July,1 on this day you will travel by car to the foot of theAvachinsky  volcano (from the Western or South-Eastern side, depending on the snow situation). You will walk up the "dry" river to the spurs of the volcano. On the way you will be able to take beautiful pictures of the volcanic highland landscape, mountain flowers and ground gophers. On the route you will have a picnic.

Day 6. A boat trip

Today you will enjoy a boat trip to the Avacha Bay. You will see the picturesque rocks  and  Tri Brata (Three Brothers) Island which is considered to be one of the main symbols of Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky. Also you will watch the sea birds on Babushkin Kamen (Old Woman’s Stone) Island.

Next you willl go out to the Pacific ocean to Starichkov Island, where you will watch the largest sea bird rookery in Kamchatka (including the Steller's eagle).

If desired you will participate in sea fishing, after which you will have lunch and taste a red fish soup cooked by assistant captain.

After completing the boat trip you will go to the resort area of Paratunka, where you will swim in the pool with thermal water. In the evening you will return to the hotel.

Day 7. Malkinsky hot springs or Kuril lake

On this day, you can take a helicopter tour to the Kuril lake to observe the bears (optional and at an additional fee). 

If you do not fly to the lake, you can have a trip to the Malkinsky hot springs. You will swim in their healing waters, and then return to the town.

Day 8. Homecoming

After breakfast you will visit the fish market and buy souvenirs. Then you will be taken to the airport.
